Represent your home meeting during this year's Annual LifeRing Congress online Sunday, June 8th. Directly influence the policies and leadership that shape your recovery community. This isn't just another meeting; it's your opportunity to elect members to the Board of Directors, propose vital bylaw changes, and bring the concerns of your fellow members directly to the forefront.

Don't just participate, LEAD!

The Congress is the supreme deliberative and legislative body of the LifeRing organization. This is your chance to directly influence LifeRing's direction, elect leaders, and champion your meeting's concerns.

This is your chance to:

  • Champion your meeting's voice:  Bring forward ideas and concerns, ensuring they are addressed by LifeRing's leadership.
  • Elect your leaders:  Participate in the Board of Directors election and guide the future of LifeRing.
  • Shape the rules:  Vote on proposed bylaw changes that impact every LifeRing member.

How to Become a Delegate:

  • Talk to the convenor at your next meeting.
  • Meet the eligibility requirements following below.
  • Register with the Registrar of Voters (registrar@lifering.org) by Thursday, May 8, 2025.
  • Be prepared to represent your meeting during the online LifeRing Annual Conference on Sunday, June 8th, 2025! You may choose to serve in absentia, but where's the fun in that?

Eligibility Determination for Delegates:

  • You must be a member of a LifeRing meeting.
  • You are required to have least 6 months of continuous sobriety.
  • Ideally, you should be selected democratically by meeting participants or appointed by the convenor. If you are a convenor and no other participant is eligible, you may serve as the Delegate.
  • In order to vote in the Absentee Election, you must provide your email address where the Absentee Election Ballot will be sent, and the basis for eligibility (which meeting are you representing) to the Registrar of Voters, registrar@lifering.org. You can also mail this information to the LifeRing Service Center, service@lifering.org.
  • Your registration must be submitted no less than 30 days prior to Congress. This year, the Delegate Registration Deadline is Thursday, May 8, 2025.
  • Once  you have been credentialed (verified that you are representing a valid LifeRing meeting), you will receive an email from the Registrar of Voters indicating they are eligible to vote. Additional information and the Delegate's Briefing will be included with this confirmation email.

Powers and Responsibilities of Delegates and Delegates at Large:

  • Registered delegates shall be the only persons allowed to vote on the matters before the Annual Congress.
  • Delegates may submit Board of Director nominees.
  • Delegates may submit proposals for Board actions and amendments to the Bylaws.
  • Delegates report on the status and concerns of the active meeting they represent.
  • Delegates in attendance are responsible for approving the absentee ballot.
  • Delegates vote on Board of Director nominees
  • Delegates vote on proposed Board actions and Bylaw changes.
